Tal'Ilen
Bound Woods
Northeastern Coast
Landscape
Moss-draped
rainforests, misty coastlines, cliffs, and rugged mountains.
Notable Features:
- Jawline Range: Craggy, fog-covered mountain range running inland, barrier between coast and interior.
Climate
Cool,
rainy, foggy—dense, wet forests with vibrant greenery.
Urbanization
Large, interconnected
city-states with a blend of trade, scholarship, and governance. Outskirts
serve as trade hubs and artisan districts. Architecture likely
blends natural elements (stone, moss, glass) with magical infrastructure.
Culture
Northern coastal elitism: power centers of the continent—arrogant, refined, heavily influenced by trade and scholarship—view rural communities as quaint or backwards.
Central Forests
Landscape
Lush green lowland
forests transition into dry sclerophyll forests.
Notable Features:
- Alpine Meadows: High-elevation areas rich in rare flora.
- Lakes: Glacial and tectonic lakes, expansive and possibly sacred to local cultures.
Climate
Still rainy, but less
so inland. More temperate, gradually drying.
Urbanization
Semi-nomadic and deeply spiritual druid circle.
Culture
Druids view temple magic as too rigid, too removed from the source. The druidic culture is deeply ingrained in Animism.
Western & Southern Highlands
Landscape
Arid plateaus, rugged hills, fertile valleys fed by mountain runoff.
Climate
Dry and arid with seasonal rains. Though rainfall is scarce for the hot
months, there are a plethora of rivers and streams that flow from the mountains
that supply healthy water access for agricultural prosperity.
Urbanization
Small, dispersed farming communities; tribal or local council leadership.
Culture
Practical, grounded people with minimal use or trust in magic. Magic is seen as unpractical and frivolous. Any magic is seen as a tool, not a calling. Strong agrarian roots—rituals exist but are more seasonal/agricultural than arcane. Folk charms, weather rituals, harvest blessings—but nothing flashy. Tension might exist with the coastal cities, who look down on these "backwards" methods.
Southeastern zone
Landscape
From arid plains to lush grasslands, then swampy marshlands ending in a coastal edge. A place of
convergence—unusual biodiversity, ancient mysteries.
Climate
Variable and unpredictable
Urbanization
Minimal settlements. Hidden temples across this area of the continent make for great mystery and stories of treasure to be found. But will anyone take the risk?
Culture
Magic and the lands themselves remain shrouded in mystery. Rumors have it that the marshes themselves are alive.
